Q: How to request for a merchant blocking of an unauthorised transactions
Answer:
If the bank decides to block a specific merchant after receiving an alert notification from Infinitium (INF)'s NOC team or based on the bank’s internal alerts, the bank must send in a request, and attach together with the completed Service Request Form (SRF) to INF Support for the blocking implementation.
A completed SRF submitted to INF has to be signed by the Authorized PIC and include the following details:
- Merchant Name
- Acquirer Merchant ID
- Blocking Duration – specify whether the block is temporary or permanent (if temporary, please indicate the duration)
Once the signed SRF is received and verified by INF, CSS will proceed with the necessary actions and inform the bank after the merchant has been successfully blocked.
Note:- Merchant blocking can also be achieve by utilizing the Infinitium FDS service through Whitelisting / Blacklisting.
What is FDS?
Infinitium FDS2 (FDS) is an in-house software designed to support real-time risk assessment of payment transactions, enabling banks to detect and block suspicious activity at the point of payment. This helps prevent potential fraud and protects cardholders. FDS2 is integrated with IMS2.0, allowing banks to activate risk-based authentication (RBA) dynamically. It offers a default policy template and allows banks to customize rules, risk weights, and decision thresholds according to their risk appetite.
